Lucinda Williams Headlining Benefit Concert in Ann Arbor

  • Michigan Theater 603 East Liberty Street Ann Arbor, MI, 48104 United States (map)

Grammy award winning singer and songwriter Lucinda Williams will be headlining a benefit concert at The Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor in February. The show will mark the 40th anniversary of The Breakfast at St. Andrew’s daily meal program and has raised more than $120,000 for the organization since it began in 2010. Each winter, performers gather at The Ark along with a growing list of local and community sponsors to donate their musical talents and concert profits to support the meal program.

Founded in 1982 by parishioners of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, the daily meal program is a non-profit that has served a free meal to anyone without missing a single day. With a 12-member board and over 100 volunteers that donate their time, The Breakfast at St. Andrew’s serves between 90 and 150 meals daily.

In the past, these concerts have celebrated the roots and branches of American music including the blues, bluegrass, folk, and jazz. Williams, who has been heralded by The New York Times as an “archetype in a lineage of rocking, literar American songwriters” will be headlining the concert with Her Band. She has released 14 albums and been awarded three Grammy awards and countless accolades including Time’s Songwriter of the Year in 2001.

The benefit concert will take place on February 11, 2022. Doors open at 7:00pm and the show begins at 7:30pm. Tickets range from $45 to $150 and can be purchased online here or at the door.
