Dr. Edje is a graduate of University of Michigan Medical School for her MD and Master of Health Professions Education. She is now the Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Edje has been widely recognized for her role in vaccine advocacy, including her high-profile participation in Moderna's clinical trials. She has also recently been recognized by the U-M Michigan Medicine Alumni Society with the Distinguished Humanitarian Award.

In her talk, Dr. Edje will reflect on advocacy for vaccine hesitant patients in populations disproportionately affected by COVID during the pandemic. The pandemic served as Step 1 in John Kotter’s 8-step change model for many advocacy topics but particularly for patient advocacy. She will examine vaccine advocacy through the lens of this change model. Dr. Edje will also discuss 5 tools helpful in pursuing sustainable change by physicians for their patients.
