The gala re-opening, October 11th, as Aretha’s Jazz Cafe with Kingdom, comprised of some of the best musicians (many of whom have played with The Queen of Soul) in an epic night of honor and music including, Musical Director , Kern Brantley, Rainman , Philip Bates and Nick Behnan and a “who’s who” list of Detroit vocalists including, Kimmie Horne, Gwen Foxx, Cherri Black, Steffanie Christi’an, Kiko, Angela Davis, Redi Choi and Beth. Her many performances here, including her final full concert performed free of charge for fans at the Inaugural 2017 Detroit Music Weekend, make this the perfect spot for the city to celebrate her gifts.”
