Anti-Bullying Session

  • 8535 Textile Road Ypsilanti, MI, 48197 United States (map)

This event is the first of weekly anti-bullying opportunities our after school program will provide to its students. Here are the goals of this initiative:

1.) Provide children with definition and understanding of bullying
2.) Help children to know when and how to speak to adults
3.) Teach children ways to speak up and stand up for themselves, and how to advocate for others when they see something happening
4.) Involve adults (school age staff and parents) so that they can help identify bullying, notice signs of depression, and know better how to communicate with children on these topics

While all the other activities will take place during the after school program, we want the kick-off to involve parents. The Washtenaw Area Council for Children will be co-hosting this session designed for our children, families, and staff. Afterwards, everyone will be able to better help identify bullying, notice signs of depression, and how to better communicate on the topic.

Children who are attending will be fed dinner at 5:30 (provided by TBDC). There is no cost for families. To let us know if you will attend, you can either RSVP here or sign up in the school room. Due to the nature of the topic, please only our elementary students may attend.
