‘Opera Art Live’

April 16 – Observe the artists at work up close and personal at the Howell Opera House!

The Livingston Arts Council is showcasing its second annual public art event, ‘Opera Art Live’ on April 16 – 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., featuring on site artists working in a variety of mediums and themes. Each artist will have a 6′ x  6′ studio area in which to work on both the 1st floor and 2nd floor of the iconic building.

You’re invited! Guests enter at 6:30 p.m. to browse and observe artists as they create their pieces. Guests can participate in a silent auction for the pieces of art they favor while enjoying strolling appetizers.  It is expected that approximately 36 artists will be participating this year, although the number has not been confirmed to date.

In 2015, the participating artists were: Jamie, Bollerud,painter; Stanley Bowers, Wood Carver; Date Crawford, jeweler; Nancy Cross, weaver; Tyler DePerro, Illustrator; Jake Down, painter; Emily, Painter; Lynn Duffey, Jeweler; Lawrence Falardeau, Painter; Delphine Frank, Calligrapher; Veronica Gabriel, Pencil Drawings; Sandra Guzman, Painting; Bonnie Johnson, Acrylic Painting; Armayne Lyons, texturized photography; Kathy Markowich, Painter; Nancy McCutcheon, Painter; Susan Sanderson, Acrylic Painting; Diane Schenkel, painter; Carolyn Sdunek, glass beads; Sally Sellers, watercolor painter; Shirley Spears, painter; Vera Thornton, oil painter; Mary Lou Wiegand, painter; Cornelies  VanSpronsen, painter; and Don Zwiesler, Acrylic painter.

8:00 – 8:30 p.m. – Final bidding.

Afterglow, 8:30 – 10:00 p.m. – Winning bids are announced and guests can meet the artists.

A portion of the proceeds for each piece will be given to the artist. All remaining proceeds benefit the continuation and expansion of art programs at the Howell Opera House. More information: 517.540.0065.
